Laura Martin Joins Open LMS Leadership Team
Open LMS is proud to announce that a long-time team member has been added to its leadership team. Laura Martin has been promoted to senior director of product management to lead the team that researches, defines, and rolls out Open LMS product roadmaps.
“Laura has grown significantly over the past several years, both personally and professionally,” said Phill Miller, managing director of Open LMS. “There are many areas in which Laura excels, but I believe her ability to take a problem, break it down, and organize a solution to that problem is the most impressive of her skills. Her ability to lead teams, organize resources, and balance competing priorities will also be important as she takes on this larger responsibility.”
This promotion comes at an important juncture as Open LMS continues to unify, simplify, deploy, and support its products while providing exceptional customer service. Laura’s perspective and skillset will provide unique insights to address the evolution of Open LMS’s products.
“I joined the Open LMS team at a pivotal point when the way we learn and work drastically changed,” Laura said. “From there, higher education and corporations learned how to navigate a hybrid working model, which showed the immense value edtech can have on colleges, universities, and employers. Design and the user experience are so important when developing new products as best practices are changing all the time. I look forward to tackling these new challenges with the team in my new role.”
Laura first joined Open LMS in April 2020 having previously worked in user experience roles at Blackboard. Residing in Bogotá, Colombia, Laura’s educational experience includes the Open University of Catalonia in Spain and the University of the Andes in Colombia.
